Derby.

Dear Sirs,

LOW PRESSURE TYRES.

Re yours of the 28th. yours reference He6/LG. We note with interest that Mr Royce is pleased with the 20 H.P. tyres and also that your comparative tests are satisfactory up to date as regards speed and hill climbing.

The 40/50 H.P. set of wheels went back to you last week, and we expect also to send you further set for the 40/50, as asked for in your letter of the 30th ultimo. sometime this week.

In reference to Tread pattern - we shall be glad to know what difference you find as regards noise in comparing 7" with the 8" tyres already sent, as we had the impression that the 7" tyres were appreciably quieter. The next set of 8" tyres have been altered as regards Tread pattern with a view to getting longer running properties and greater silence. We would be glad if you would let us know on receipt your opinion of these tyres in this respect.

As you know it is difficult to get a good non-skid pattern which will at the sametime be perfectly silent, and the different conditions set up with the Low Pressure tyre give us new problems in reference to silence and wear, and we think it will only be after extended experience that we shall get as silent a tyre as it is possible to make, in conjunction with fulfilling the requirements in other directions at the sametime.

Yours faithfully.
