X.3436 EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Ms. c. to EFC. c. to Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} By7-P8.5.20. X.3451. CHASSIS - PETROL TANKS. X.3436 Referring to your memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/T13/F5.5.20, unquestionably the remedy for the trouble which occurs purely on dynamometer running is to have a piece of asbestos, preferably thick wire woven asbestos, to lap round the tank at this particular point during dynamometer test. I cannot agree that such a condition is even remotely possible on the road - it is a purely dynamometer trouble and as such should be guarded against by the Test Department. By.{R.W.
