X8430. S/W. (Copy to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}). . Re: Shortened 'D' column. Just prior to going for his holiday, C. sent me down your BY/Mtn9/K30.6.27. with copy of his C2/02.7.27. I have been looking round to try and see what Car we could send and am afraid we haven't one as our only Cars are Trials and Inspectors which we must not carry out any experiments on. Our idea all along really was, that this shortened 'D' column should be fitted up on some Car in the Experimental Department and that we should be allowed to see and try it. Possibly it could be fitted to the next 10,000 miles Chassis which I believe is 14.EX. then if this is O.K. it could beput through the 10,000 miles and standardised. If there is anything against this, however, possibly it could be fitted to some other Chassis in the Experimental Department but I am afraid it is hopeless for us to provide a Car. I am sending a copy of this to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and should be glad if you would consult with him and let us know what you can arrange. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
