(7) Body mounted on subframe.

We find that the subframe adds approximately 112 lbs. to the weight of the car. There is also great difficulty in making satisfactory front floor boards.

(8) Front road springs made by Lemoines, Paris.

They have 3 more leaves compared with our present springs.

(9) Felt strips fitted to side engine guards.

(10) Bonnet side plates held on with improved bolts and washers.

We have always had trouble with the bolt heads working into the aluminium and coming loose.

(11) Improved dust covers on brakes.

(12) Connecting rods with loose big end bushes.

Tests are being carried out on the test bench to prove the advantage of these for reliability.

(13) Crankcase bearings with steel shells in place of composite bearings, bronze and whitemetal and solid whitemetal.

(14) Spherical seated unions and nipples of the latest type to LeC.2183.

(15) Floating idler wheel mounting similar to that used on Phantom so that the position of the idler wheel can be adjusted.

(16) Steel cam wheel in place of phosphor bronze.

This was fitted at Works request because it is believed that the bronze wheels cause gears to develop noisy.

(17) Carburetter with aluminium air valve.

We do not get any more power with this air valve. We have tried to improve the metering at low speeds by alteration to the ports at the top of the high speed throat. We are not sure yet whether it is an improvement. On the whole there is very little wrong with the present standard 20 HP. carburetter if set correctly.
