| Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Mr. Topliss. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.11/KW.16.10.34. SpectreCodename for Phantom III Engine Rubbers F.86410. With reference to the recent sample rubbers supply by the Leyland & Birmingham Rubber Co. Although we agree that by altering the shape of our metal part it is now difficult to remove it from the rubber, the unit in consequence is no more satisfactory. The fault with all steel inserted parts supplied from Leyland & Birmingham's is that they cannot get the rubber to adhere to the metal. This feature is essential to us in order to prevent local overloading of the rubber. Until Leyland & Birmingham can get 100% adhesion it is no use us considering their manufacture for steel inserted rubber parts. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} | ||
