B.50 GEARBOX B.3 No.2.

In addition to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}28.9.38, in view of the various troubles noted in box B.3 No.3 removed from 8.B.V., will you please also

(1) Transfer the half servo worm wheel to B.3 No.2 from B.3 No.3.

(2) Fit a washer so that the top sliding piece cannot go further into overdrive than .010 beyond the selector ball.

(3) File the overdrive slot in the gate so that it allows the washer in para. (2) to act as the limit of travel.

(4) Grind the steel washers retaining the needles in the side shaft to give a further .010 and clearance.

(5) Counter bore the 1st. speed wheel so that the middle third of the internal splines is removed.

Verbal instructions for all this were given to the Fitting Shop during the week-end.
