Noise issues with new Dunlop tread tyres and seeking an opinion on different types.

C9/C13.4.32 Re Dunlop new tread Tyres. ------- Dunlops sent us recently a set of their new tread tyre for our Trials car because the tyres fitted of the ordinary improved silent type were extremely noisy. On trying these new tread tyres, however, two of our drivers have reported them to be extremely noisy on wet roads - they appear to be fairly all right on dry roads. Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has been trying a set of these tyres for something over 3,000 miles now, and he finds them quite satisfactory; we had, therefore, agreed to Dunlops proceeding with the manufacture of them, and we were rather startled when the drivers reported this new tread as being extremely noisy. On investigating the matter with Dunlops we find that they have two types of this tread - what they call MA.1. and MA.2. MA.1. were on our trials car and MA.2 are on Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 's car. I understand that the tyres you have been trying out are MA.1. I am seeing Dunlops representatives on Friday and I should be glad, therefore, if you would please let me have your latest opinion concerning these tyres. Dunlops are also hesitating about making new moulds because they say that we are going to alter our rim sizes. Will you please give me any information on this also. C.
