SUGGESTED METHOD OPERATING ALL FOUR BRAKES BY SERVO AND DIRECT PRESSURE. For servo assume T2/T1 = 3 (Forward motion) Diagram labels: To rear brakes. Fixed. Servo Equaliser between front & rear brakes. fixed front brakes. tension = Pa{Mr Paterson}/(a+b) P = Press: from foot pedal T2 = Pb/(a+b) Formulas: T2 = 3Pa{Mr Paterson}/(a+b) force at F = 3Pa{Mr Paterson}/(a+b) " " C = Pb/(a+b) Force acting at G = (P[3ad + b(c+d)]) / ((a+b)d) for equaliser Or assuming that b = a (equal pull to servo and direct pressure). and d = c - Then Force acting at G = P + 3/2P. Under these conditions if servo not working or working in reverse direction. Force at G = P or total foot effort is available for braking. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL. | ||
