GRY{Shadwell Grylls} x728 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c.c. Mr. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} HDY.{William Hardy} E.11/HP.21.8.35. re Phantom 2 Second Speed Gear Jumping Out. This is to confirm that you will arrange tests with 28-EX and if necessary other Phantom 2 chassis, to see if the second speed can be made to jump out under conditions similar to those causing trouble on a certain customers cars. If no trouble is experienced as the result of these tests then it is agreed that the second speed layshaft wheel should be fitted with slack bushes to assimilate the effect of wear, and/be re-tested for jumping out.
