On the 17th August last we addressed an order No.3838 to Rolls-Royce of America Inc. for six Copper Sylphon Tubes, to particulars given on our blueprint F.8303 sent therewith. This was as requested by note EY/EL5/EF11.8.20.

We have now received a letter from R.R.of A.Inc. signed by Mr.Olley and dated 24th Sept.1920, stating that they had obtained six samples from the Fulton Co. which they were forwarding by first-class mail to the attention of Mr.Hives, adding that these are not to the specified dimensions which were 1-1/16" inside diameter and .525" long, but are the nearest thing which they could obtain immediately from the Fulton Co.

R.R.of A.Inc. have written again to the Fulton Co. asking what size of order would interest them sufficiently to induce them to produce the special sizes we call for.

Meanwhile, if the samples prove to be satisfactory, we might, if the matter is sufficiently urgent, cable this information to R.R.of A.Inc.

Will Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} kindly advise me of receipt of the six samples referred to, also if they do not come to hand quickly, please let me know.
