Thank you for your Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}17.CM30.4.28.

We are enclosing herewith N.Sch.2595. which shews a modified radiator, bonnet and dash which we think would satisfy the coachbuilders.

The radiator top tank is raised bodily one inch by increasing the matrix by that amount.

The top of the dash is raised 1.50ins. and the corners one inch.

By this means we do the following:-
(a) Raise the side hinge bodily without increasing its slope.
(b) Decrease the slope on the top hinge from 2.000ins. to 1.375ins
(c) We do not increase the height of the scuttle, and therefore do not reduce the driving vision.
(d) We reduce the tendancy for the radiator to appear wider than it is tall.

We suggest that "mock-ups" are not much use for a job like this. We must see the real thing. We suggest that we could easily make a bonnet radiator and dash to the new dimensions. ( Derby please confirm). As Barkers are so keen on the change we suggest that they will be willing to bear the expense of modifying the scuttle of an existing body, or, as suggested by "Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}", they may be able to arrange to fit the whole to one of their customer's cars at his expense.

We would be glad if you would send our scheme drawing to Barkers together with a copy of our explanatory remarks, so that they may take a print. We would them like to have the original back.

We are very keen that the coachbuilder should have all the assistance we can give him in keeping the appearance of our cars up-to-date.
