J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 4. SYNCHRO MESH GEARBOX.

You will probably have noticed that we are asking for a movement at the top of the gear lever of 3.9 a side.

We did not have an opportunity of trying the Buick and therefore we do not know what the lever felt like.

Would you be good enough to give us your views on this point? The alternatives are a long movement and a light load, or a heavier load and a shorter movement.

We consider with our 3.9 of movement that our load should be lighter than the Buick, but here again we have no definite information.

Have you any actual figures as to what the maximum load on the Buick lever is?
