6-B-IV - Next 15,000 Miles Test.

In view of the fact that the last 15,000 miles test has shown that modifications to the oil filtration and oil supply are desirable with Hall's metal bearings, we are proposing to make 6-B-IV test primarily a try-out of engine modifications. The modified specification is as follows :-

ENGINE.

(1) Improved oil filtering.
(2) Increased oil circulation, larger oil pump.
(3) Improved crankshaft damper.
(4) Turbulent head with lips removed and ignition governor to suit.
(5) Improved piston rings to take care of increased oil supply.
(6) Clutch material similar to the Ph.III and ventilated casing. 11" Borg & Beck Instead.
(7) Improved crankshaft balance weight scheme. Not fitted.
(8) Improved exhaust valves of stellited low expansion material.
(9) Cantilever throttle controls.
(10) Induction system modified to improve idling.

CHASSIS.

(1) 20/25 type rubber engine mounting.
(2) Cantilever pedals.
(3) Standard radiator mounting, Mark VI matrix.
