1249 S/W To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Carburation. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}9/E31.5.37 The following is an extract from a letter from Geoffrey Smith: 'Recent developments in America; we have news that extraordinary economy in petrol consumption has been achieved of late and that economy will be the main plank of the 1938 programmes. According to my information the use of a pump type carburetter, only the pump setting being rich, combined with other modifications to the induction system have nearly halved the petrol consumption.' In view of your recent visit to America, I should be interested if you could indicate what he is talking about and what we know about it. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
