re. ZENITH PETROL FILTERS.

With further reference to the above, and recent complaints from Sales Dept. of various cases in which Zenith petrol filters have been found by customers to be broken very shortly after delivery of the car, and on which Sales are emphatic that this has not been due to rough treatment by the owners. We have submitted your memo to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}, and have to state that they do not agree to the statement made in the second paragraph of your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rnl/LG5.7.28. or to the suggestion made in the last paragraph of this memo.

We shall be glad, therefore, if this matter can have further consideration.

Our understanding of the job is that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has already gone as far as possible with the makers in regard to this trouble, and we were given to understand that the matter was having consideration by the Experimental Dept.

Thn.
