RE: CHASSIS FOOT SWITCH.

We cannot agree with the remarks in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.2/AP. 4.3.37., re the failure of a foot switch due to lack of lubrication.

This design of foot switch was tested and standardised by the Experimental Dept., after 60,000 operations, without provision for lubrication.

The feature referred to is identical with the Bosch foot switch, and to talk about providing this with lubrication is ridiculous.

With reference to the foot switch made by Lucas of the Bosch design, now on test, it should be clearly understood that this is not a production article made by Messrs. Lucas, but has been specially made to meet our requirements.
