R.R. 235 a (996 T) (S.F. 674, 22-5-19) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 3376 83855 BY/JH9/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 25. 8. 19. EFC Mr.Shelton. RE DERMATINE WASHERS *3570 The Works are complaining that the Dermatine washers used on the chassis are inferior to the rubber insertion washers used in pre-War days. They are of the opinion that if the dermatine washers were increased in thickness a better joint would be obtained. The Order Office inform us that the Stores have a sheet of Dermatine of a thickness greater that washers used on the chassis. Could you please arrange to fit a set of washers made in this thicker material to a chassis and report upon same. The difficulty the Works are having is due to the fact that the Dermatine crinkles making it impossible to obtain a water-tight joint. Will Mr.Clarke please issue an experimental number. BY/JH. | ||
