X523 From Colonel The Master of Sempill SARDINIA HOUSE. (50 - Fifth Floor). KINGSWAY LONDON. W.C.2 Telephone: HOLBORN 0991 Telegrams: "SEMPILAERO" LONDON Date: 3rd.November 1927 My Reference _________ Your Reference _________ Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. (For the attention of Mr.E.W.Hives) Dear Sirs, I have very much pleasure in acknowledging receipt of your letter of November 1st. and shall be glad to loan you for a week or so a small model of the Humfrey-Sandberg Free-wheel Clutch. I should like to point out that this little Clutch is purely a model and that the conoidal surfaces are not generated with any particular accuracy as such was not necessary in this case. If you should desire to make any lengthy tests I should be glad if you would let me know as we are now carrying out a further series of tests of a particularly severe nature, the results of which you will certainly find of interest. Should you wish to have any further trial of one of the cars fitted with the Free-wheel I should be glad to arrange it. I will also send you further copies of the report to which you refer. Yours faithfully, W. Sempill | ||
