up in the morning, providing that priming device is fitted, and too many fittings detract from the appearance of the engine, so that anything we can possibly do without should be avoided.
(7) Connecting Rods machined all over.
(8) Valves to be made from stainless steel to light design - the stem not drilled. Fitter with cotter.
(9) Air pump on distributor shaft, running in horizontal position.
(10) Six-volt coil to be made of small size than usual standard.
(11) Carpentier trembler.
(12) Insulated ignition switch.
(13) 7-CA. will have a completely new back axle, or the present one so completely altered that it may be called a fresh one. The first object of altering this part will be to endeavour to make the car hold the road better and ride well at all speeds, which would include saving the tyres. I have assumed that probably tyres will be saved and stiffer springs permitted if the springs are fitted under the axle, as in the car of our L-E type, Lanchester, and the Continental springing of Renaults and other people, and 49-GB.
It is just possible that the rear end of the car will sway less on a straight road than when the springs are above the axle. There can be only one disadvantage and that is a car with a top-heavy body would roll more in passinground a corner at high speeds, but my own judgement is that owing to the great comfort of the under springing.
