W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Robotham,

I got back from a trip to the Shadow Factories in the Midlands on Saturday last, to find my Bentley in the garage.

I had a short run in it on Sunday, but I have been busy at work, and it was such a wretched day, that I have not been able to get it out. The piston tap and general engine noise seem to have gone, and the brakes and steering are good, but the engine has not got the pick-up it had before. Would you please let me know if you have lowered the compression ratio, and if so, what I have to do to get back to the right ratio again ?

Incidentally, my driver tells me that when the car arrived back at Bristol he found that the pressures of the tyres were - 50 lbs offside front, 35 lbs nearside front, and 28 lbs and 25 lbs for the rear tyres.

Yours sincerely,

A.H.R.Fedden.
