1001? EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}6/JH. 8th August, 1938. Messrs. Mead McLean & Co.Ltd., Grand Buildings, Trafalgar Square, LONDON.W.C.2. Dear Sirs, We are enclosing a blueprint of a Bentley O.S. front door. Will you please have a set of your draught ventilators made up to suit. We will arrange to have the glass cut at Derby if you will let us have the patterns, as on our previous sets. We are very satisfied with the working of the other two sets, now that the wind noise has been reduced by the fitting of wooden shields. Our only criticism is, that the hinge is not strong enough and we should be glad if this could be rectified on this new set. The maximum car width at the windscreen is 49" and at the centre - centre of the body 57.25", while at the centre top it is 53.5, the body tapers at the top. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
