Some salient points. (1) The main filament provides an even illumination of the road for a distance of about 1/4-mile, thus ensuring safe night driving at high speeds. (2) The anti-dazzle light projects its beam below the “eye-level” so that other road users are not dazzled. (3) Seeing that the speed at which the eye can alter its focus is limited, most systems of anti-dazzle fail because the driver is put in momentary darkness. The Bosch anti-dazzle system eliminates this defect since the intensity of light from the main filament is not appreciably different from that of the anti-dazzle light — the alteration being the direction of the light beam. (4) The direction of the beam of light is such that even in foggy weather the driver is not dazzled by reflected light. (5) For towns and country villages where glare is offensive to the pedestrian, but where the street lighting is insufficient for safe driving, the switching in of the anti-glare light is an absolute solution of this problem. (6) Any existing Bosch headlamp can be converted to this system. The difference in price is very small and the extra up-keep cost nil. (7) Not only does the Bosch headlamp comply with all the regulations of Continental countries, but it is anticipated that in Great Britain in the near future offensive headlights will be illegal. (8) It is impossible to estimate the number of accidents that could be avoided by such a system of lighting as the Bosch headlamp with double filament bulb. Every motorist will agree that a large percentage of accidents could be traced to glaring headlights. — 2 — Wiring Diagram.
