re 20/25 H.P.CHASSIS - CLUTCH FAILURES
GXB-1 - Turley

We have recently had a complaint from the above customer of a clutch failure, causing considerable inconvenience and trouble owing to the car definitely failing on the road.

An examination of the clutch revealed the fact that slipping had taken place, evidently to the extent of the pedal touching the floorboards. But a more serious fault was that the clutch trunnion was butting up against the gear box and bearing cover and actually damaging same. blutch burst out [handwritten note]

In pointing out the fact that this is due to the excessive clutch slipping and that attention should have been given to this feature before the clutch got to its present state, he points out, quite naturally, that there is nothing in the Instruction Book pointing out this possibility or the fact that any adjustments can be made.

We understand from the Repair Department that they have had similar cases to the above, and we think that the question of some means of adjustment, or the question of attention, should be given, as it must certainly be realised that the 25 H.P.chassis does suffer from clutch slipping unless carefully driven.
