Copy to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} FULLY AUTOMATIC IGNITION TIMING Further to E/TSN.1/MN.29.1.35, I was talking yesterday to a man who has a car with fully automatic ignition control and no hand control, and he said that very often when he got his car back from a garage or even from the makers it was down on performance, due to incorrect ignition timing, and that without a lever it was impossible to tell whether the ignition was timed correctly, and furthermore it took half a day in trial and error to get it right. Evidently even the makers themselves had difficulty in telling whether the timing was correct or not. E/TSN. | ||
