The Director of Research. -2- 4th. February, 1939. rate of work can never be reached because it requires a finite time to reach a steady temperature. Some temperature greater than t is reached and this can be called t + T for one particular work rate; the higher the acceleration the less the value of T. This value of T can to some extent be gauged by taking readings of /u both accelerating and decelerating. We are sending you some pieces of Thermoid D.35.IH lining as promised, and will be very pleased to receive your full report on this material in due course. The lining consistently squeaks when cold and hydrated, but does not when warm. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
