Sheets 1 and 2 show the external elevations and plan. Sheet 3 shows a section through the clutch and the gear trains. Sheets 4 and 5 cover the operation and leverages. Sheet 6 is a section through the servo motor, speedo drive and damper pump. Sheet 7 shows the change speed mechanism. Sheet 8 is a view on the rear of the clutch and shows also the setscrews to the crankcase. A key to LOP's and sheets is shown on Sheet 1.

We have included all the latest developments as listed on our memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH.2/SW.1.3.41., and will endeavour to keep these arrangements in line with all future schemes and instructions.

We would raise the following points for the attention of the Design Dept :-

1. Felt Seal.

The felt seal for the bottom cover has not been included in the arrangement because we feel strongly that an alternative method of sealing the gap between C'case and bottom cover could be devised. This has been improved on the Junior Gearbox.

2. Eccentric Pins.

Could we not devise a more efficient method of locking the eccentrics? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} has on occasions complained of having to regularly adjust the mechanism, and we are of the opinion that a more positive lock here would obviate this necessity.

3. Damper Pump.

Trouble has been experienced due to dirt finding its way under the valve seat and causing sticking. In the light of this should we not fit the filter to the damper pump feed pipe as drawn by By/Crl.{C. R. Lisson} prior to hostilities.

4. Timing Pointer.

We have detailed a new pointer which is being added to all parts lists affected. The old type filled the orifice and concealed the timing marks.

We have carefully checked each individual detail and when the above points have been settled and the various corrections have been made to drawings, this unit will be in a condition for production.
