R.R. 401A (500) (27-B. 175 25-9-24) J.R.D. EXPERIMENTAL REPORT -5- Expl. No. REF: CWH/1/Crm10.6.25. to go the same as on the RAC. This is due to the too thin aluminium covering, which will not stand the rough usage it gets underneath from stones etc. All silencer brackets are O.K. The exhaust shout is quite O.K. When running at high speeds, the shout gives one the impression of choking the exhaust. On the overrun it is bad for booming. We have not had any explosions on overrun. The bolt holding swan neck to bracket on frame was missing. We have fitted one. FRONT BRAKE EQUALISING SHAFT. This shaft, which goes through gearbox, requires a right-angled lubricator, to clear the undershield. The equalisier and shaft are in a good condition. GENERAL EXAMINATION UNDERNEATH THE FRAME. Ties and brackets, equalising shafts and cross tubes - these are all O.K. Front wings are cracking where booting is welded to wings. G.W.Hancock. | ||
