Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rn. {Mr Robinson} 3/MJ. April 4th.1930.

Messrs. K.L.G. Sparking Plugs Ltd.,
Robinhood Engineering Works,
Putney Vale,
LONDON.S.W.15.

Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Major Carington.

We are sending you under separate cover,
two of the new type K.L.G. plugs with which you supplied
us for our car engines.

You will see that these have eroded and
were discarded after 9,000 miles because they had
upset the slow running of the car.

Our designers have taken exception to the
stepped form of wrapped mica insulation and want to
know whether you can provide us with something in the
washer form of mica.

Actually, in service these plugs have not
given us any trouble with pre-ignition.

Yours faithfully,

For Rolls-Royce Ltd.
