| 1381 BY.28/N.21.3.39. MINUTES OF CONFERENCE IN BY's OFFICE, ON MONDAY - 20th. MARCH 1939. Present: By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} RHC {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} /Rd. Petrol Pipes. RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} exhibited the present petrol pipe and one of modified form, omitting a large number of bends, for consideration for production. It was arranged for both pipes to be fitted to chassis for examination by By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} and a decision would be made as the result of this. Introduction of Olive Joints. RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} suggested for consideration using Olive joints instead of brazed joints, and it was agreed to try Olive Joints on a few cars, and if these proved satisfactory to instruct for future production. It was agreed to have sweated joints for immediate production, and instructions have accordingly been issued for this on 'C' series Wraith and Bentley V. {VIENNA} Lighter Cam Wheel (Wraith). Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} raised the issue as to when this would be brought on production, as the instructions called for it to be introduced without scrap. RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} stated that he thought it would not be brought in on 'C' series as the centres had probably been made. Hoyt Metal Main Bearings. It was agreed to instruct these for 'C' series and B.V. Coined Conn. Rods. Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} asked for the position of these and RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} said he would look into the matter and let him know. | ||
