To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4237 E2/M16.8.23. GOSHAWK II. - FAN PULLEY AND DRIVE X.4222 FOR SPRING DRIVE - LeC.1727. X.4237 We send you herewith drawing No.LeC.1749., shewing the above. This is a slight revision of the spring drive for transferring the fan pulley back to the crankshaft. To do this it has been necessary to move the fan belt slightly forward, but there is no difficulty about so doing this owing to the spare room available on the Goshawk behind the radiator. In dealing with the spring drive before we added slightly to the length of the taper on the crankshaft front end without increasing the overall length of the shaft by recessing the crankshaft nut. If this alteration cannot be incorporated without interfering with interchangeability it need not be carried out. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
