RE EXPTL: TEST TACKLE (SPECIAL DEVICES) At a meeting of officials, called together on Thursday last by Mr. Wormald, at Mr. Royce's instigation, for the purpose of discussing the question of Condor and other exptl. work, it was concluded by Mr. Wormald and the meeting that the Plant Dept. are usually too full up with work in connection with new buildings, plant, routine test tackle, etc., to give the necessary attention to such special experimental test tackle as may be required. It was therefore decided that in future such experimental test tackle should be schemed out and detailed by the Drg. Offices responsible for the design of the particular engines to which such tackle relates. It would seem advisable that the Plant Dept. should complete work of this nature, if any, which is already practically completed: we understand, however, that there is none in such a stage. The work which is at present in the hands of the Plant Dept. consists of two jobs viz:- (1) The rig for the attachment of the Dalby-Watson Indicator (which we have on order) to the Eagle engine. (2) Work in connection with Mr. Royce's special Indicator Diagram Apparatus. We understand that work on the former has only [Upside down text at bottom] R.R. 235A (500) (T) (S.D. 40B. 25/4/17) D.L. 156/13. | ||
