-3- Continuation of MINUTES OF WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING held 13TH JULY 1921. (2) The Works Committee, after discussing the Lucas Electrical question yesterday, discussed the failure of the Rear Axle Pinion Thrust, and it was the opinion of the Committee that we should discontinue building up any more axles with this type of thrust, but substitute at once the recently standardised type of double thrust. This would mean that thischange took place at chassis 1971. The Works estimate that this latter type can be produced and ready to fit on cars on or about 8th August. This change would cause a loss to the Company as scrap, of about £2,500. Will CJ. and R.{Sir Henry Royce} give their approval of the above policy. With regard to cars which have already been delivered, a number of which have already been reported on as faulty with regard to this bevel thrust, the Experimental Dept. have not yet fully tested out the new proposals, so this matter must again come up for discussion. | ||
