EFC. WC.83. COPY 7.3.28. CONTACT BREAKER COVERS ON WATFORD EW6 MAGNETOS. On these covers the securing spring is liable to be sprung into the wrong locating hollow, there being two hollows in the cover, one in the centre (the correct location) and the other about 1/2" away where the low tension copper connecting blade is riveted to the cover. If the spring was wrongly located in this latter hollow a primary short circuit would occur; this has happened on the Watford EW6 magneto fitted to 17-EX. We recommend that this riveting hollow be filled up with insulating compound level with the surface of the cover to obviate a possible short circuit. EFC/H.E.West. | ||
