With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG17.11.28., we presume that it has been demonstrated that with one air vent over the high pressure valve the shock damper works, but it will be seen if the vent is removed from over the low pressure valve there is a space where air can be pocketed. In the previous dampers this was a source of trouble. We expect that you are watching this point.

We do of course agree that as shewn there will be some lost motion. We suggest that the passage over the low pressure valve should be carried to the top of the space in the same way as is done on the high pressure valve.
