Y 1918Q Ha/Wst.1/MA. 9th November, 1934. Messrs.K.L.G.Sparking Plugs, Ltd., Robinhood Engineering Works, Putney Vale, London, S.W.15. For the attention of Major Carington. Dear Sir, Many thanks for your letter of the 9th instant reference CMC/MEN., confirming our telephone conversation regarding H.R.H. The Duke of Kent's Bentley. We wrongly informed you regarding Cricklewood as of course Kingsbury is our Bentley service station, Cricklewood being for Rolls-Royce cars only. We suggest you try in this car some of the type 850 sparking plugs with the modified electrodes as we think it quite possible that this type of plug will not bridge the electrodes so readily as the 765A. The trouble appears to be, from our experience not due to the plugs oiling up as generally understood by the term but to small particles of carbon bridging the sparking plug points due possibly to them running cooler. If you can arrange with Mr.Guinness for the Duke of Kent's car to go to Kingsbury please advise us on what day it is proposed to send the car and we will arrange to examine the car and correct the interference if possible and try the new type 850 sparking plugs. I am writing to Kingsbury warning them of the possibility of the Duke of Kent's car arriving for service. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
