S/W To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re B-56-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/E3.12.35 Standard Petrol I should rather like to have the opportunity of trying this car when Hancock brings it back from France. I have not apparently tried a car with the compression ratio that we propose to standardise. I notice in Hancock's report of the 29th ult. he says: 'Power and acceleration not affected by use of commercial petrol. Detonations increased - ignition lever has to be half retarded to avoid them.' I am not clear what he means by 'commercial petrol'. Does he mean the same as we mean when we talk of commercial petrol in England, i.e. a lower grade petrol for use on commercial vehicles?
