Mr. Barkworth. Transport. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} When Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}'s car, 33.G.6. arrived at the Clan Foundry we found that the reason why the brakes were not functioning was because a banjo connection had come loose and all the oil had run out of the hydraulic cylinder. Tightening the banjo up and re-filling the cylinder put the brakes right. Since we are now located a considerable distance from Derby and it is extremely inconvenient for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to lose his car for any length of time I cannot see why Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}'s chauffeur should not endeavour to locate and rectify faults of this type without holding up the car by sending it to Belper. We are quite willing to give him a brief instruction on the running and maintenance of the car at any time. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
