ORIGINAL 11 Hotel de l Ouest Laval H.S. from Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} 69II May 23. 1922 X4086 I have today (AM) sent to Paris by Grande Vitesse the cylinder head complete with all the valves and have written to Wallis and asked him to send it to you by air without delay. I hope you are sending a new head soon as the car is laid up. We are examining the chassis superficially meanwhile. We have dismantled the front springs and refitted the clips and sheath. They were not a very good job. We found the aluminum packing piece under the near side spring broken in to bits and have had a steel one made to replace it. Aluminum seems poor stuff for this job being very brittle in such a thin sheet. 7GII We are also going over 79II oiling & greasing. The engine is overoiling. Although it does not oil up the plugs the exhaust smokes and the oil consumption is about 600 miles per gallon. As a preliminary we have | ||
