For the attention of Mr.Skinner.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your letter and for forwarding the correct type of needles and seatings, when these are to hand we will change them over and return the 20 sets we collected from you last Tuesday.

When I was over I spoke to Mr.Kent re some trouble we experienced with Petrol Pumps sticking which occurs after the car has been standing for a day or so.

We are sending to you at the same time as the needles etc., one electrical unit which has given trouble and shall be pleased to have your comments on same.

You will notice that the brass diaphragm locating rollers are badly worn and that brass has collected between the solenoid and armature. We think that these rollers must have been too tight in the first place or that there is a variation in the armature bearing surface. By thoroughly cleaning a sticky pump it can be made quite free but after a short period it becomes "sluggish" and eventually fails again.

On the sample we are sending you, you will also notice that the pin which carries the two small stop rollers is sheared by the toggle, and you may think that this is partly the cause of our trouble, but we have had pumps sticking when this pin is intact. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Yours sincerely,
