21-G-1V CAR IN FRANCE.

You will remember at the last conference at Derby we mentioned that we wished to keep 21-G-1V car in France in order to carry out some steering tests.

The necessary parts to carry out these tests have been delayed and therefore we have wired for this car to return to Derby as soon as possible.

Our proposal is to fit the big bore 25 HP. engine fitted with Hall's bearings to this car and then to return it to France with the necessary parts to carry out the steering tests.

We feel that it is essential that we must get as much experience as possible with Hall's bearing Alloy and also with the large bore engine as quickly as possible.

The engine we propose to fit to this car is the one we were preparing for your 25 HP. and I am sure you will agree that we shall get more intensive running in quicker time by sending it to France. We shall prepare another unit for your car which should be ready in four or five weeks. The engine which we fit to 21-G-1V will not be the final production car but it will give us the information required.

We expect 21-G-1V to be returned to France in 10 to 14 days after it arrives at Derby.

We shall still require of course to send the final 25 HP. big bore car to France but as the designs for this are not yet completed this will be in about eight or ten weeks' time.
