EAC. ENGINE: POWER WITH
TWO CLAUDEL CARBS 246 PK.

We have run an EAC. engine on the test bench fitted with 2 Claudel Carburetters and induction pipes to suit.

With free exhaust and 4.6 compression ratio, we obtained the following H.P. :-

REVS. H.P. B.M.E.P. HP. of PN{Mr Northey}'s car.
665 41.8 107 36.5
750 47.8 108 42.7
1000 64.6 109.5 55.5
1250 81.8 111 68.2
1500 100.3 113 80.5
1750 114.9 111.5 92.0
2000 127.0 108 100.8
2250 133.0 100.1 106.0
2500 133.5 90.8 109.5

It will be seen from these figures that to increase the H.P. the carburetter and induction pipes are the parts to work at. Tests are in progress with modified induction pipe and increased size of carburetter to obtain the above power with a single carburetter.

The Hispano engine is giving very good H.P. on the bench - the maximum so far is 110 HP. at 2500 R.P.M. Full particulars will be sent shortly.
