To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x579 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KW.13.10.36. 25-/30 HP. Deturbulated Cylinder Head. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}9/E.12.10.36. The advantages of the deturbulated cylinder head are not very pronounced, otherwise we should be more enthusiastic over it. The tests we carried out in England showed that it gave a smoother idling and pick-up. Hancock has made comparisons in France, and again it is clear that the customer will not get a great deal out of it. He is going to repeat his comparisons between the non-turbulent and standard cylinder heads before the car comes back, and we shall then make a decision about standardising.
