Contd. -3- In test 1, 2, 3, and 4 the secondary terminals were connected as indicated on coil ( fig 1) i.e. the H.T. terminals to distributor and the "ground" terminal at bottom of coil to "earth". Tests 1, 2, 3, and 4 were each repeated with the H.T. "ground" connected in turn to primary terminals marked "batt" and "timer". The results in each case were the same as in tests 1, 2, 3, and 4 (A different Remy coil used in these tests to tests of 17/10/19, both coils being of same type i.e. 6 volt 12 cylinder). - Tests with H.T. terminal connected to ground and "ground" terminal of secondary connected to Distributor - [Diagram] Handwritten text in diagram: (earth) (HT terminal) Batt (connected to +ve of Battery) (Connected to -ve of Battery) Timer Ballast fig 2 (spark gap) (ground terminal) (Coil) Tests as in case of Nos 1, 2, 3, and 4 wire carried out as on 17/10/19 with H.T. terminals as above. It was found that when current in primary was the opposite direction to that in Test 1 of 17/10/19, sparking comparable with that in Test 1 was produced. In this case | ||
