Dear Sirs,
Re - Thermostats E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 86612.
We thank you for your letter of May 15th.
We note that you require the six thermostats E.86612 covered by your Order No. 83105 urgently, and we will let you have these as soon as possible.
We are sorry to hear that the length of bellows which we suggest is impracticable for your purposes.
The thermostats shown on your Drawing EB.667 are no simpler to manufacture than your Part No. E.86612.. EB.667 has all the undesirable characteristics incorporated in your later drawing, and is, therefore, covered by the remarks contained in our letter dated April 16th.
Frankly, we are rather surprised that you are unable to incorporate the greater length of bellows suggested, since no difficulty has been experienced by several other manufacturers in utilising very nearly this length of bellows.
Actually, it has never proved necessary to use a bellows longer than 1.7/8", but as you know, the temperature range between the point at which the thermostat commences to open and is full open, is in no case less than
