YOUR REF. OUR REF. CWW/GC. 23rd February 1940. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, Bentley 5's. Thanks for your letter to hand this morning. I shall be glad to finish one of the 6 Cars in Rover materials, but I would like to suggest instead of Mr. Lappin's car, for which I have not only already obtained the upholstery materials but, in addition have cut them out and partly trimmed the body, you should allow me to apply these instructions to No.6.Car. So far your Sales Department have not allocated this No.6.Car for any special purpose, and in consequence have not issued finishing instructions, so that I could treat it as you wish without any loss of material or time. As a matter of fact, in view of the work I have already done on Mr. Lappin's car it would save money to bring through No.6. finished with Rover materials, and it would certainly take no longer. On the contrary, if I am fortunate enough to obtain early delivery of the Rover material I could actually achieve some saving of time. Perhaps you will telephone me your decision, in the meantime, I am making enquiries of the Suppliers about the delivery of the Rover type materials, and as soon as I hear from them I will give you a date for the completion of the car. Yours sincerely, for PARK, WARD &CO LTD. Works Director. | ||
