To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. X328 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}7/KW.16.10.36. Gearbox Fabric Coupling. Torsional Rating Test. G.80232 Hardy Fabric. It was found difficult to obtain consistent results with this coupling unless the torque was applied and removed several times without disturbing the fabric on the rig. The attached graph shows sample results the first hysteresis curve being obtained between 0 and 500 lbs/ft. when first assembled. The second was taken from 0 to 500 lbs/ft. to - 300 lbs/ft. back to 0, after removing and reassembling the fabric. The third curve was taken without disturbing the fabric, in a similar manner to the second. The fabric had by then settled down and a further repeat test without disturbing the fabric gave similar results to those obtained during the third test. This coupling was therefore approximately 60% stiffer than the G.76576 type previous tested. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/W.Bell. N.B. Please note that the previous coupling - see Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}9/KW.13.10.36 - was erroneously stated to be G.80232. Corrected copies are attached. | ||
