BENTLEY CHASSIS - MAIN BEARINGS.

In view of the big-end failures on Bentley cars, Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} has recommended that we introduce at the earliest possible moment main bearings made in A/C2 material in place of the A/C7 material as at present used.

We are, therefore, arranging (on instructions received from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) to introduce these new bearings on the 176th chassis in 'K' Series, which will be sent to test week-ending August 21st at a scrap cost of £42.16.3d.

Further, Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} recommended that we should introduce at the same time the modified drilling to the Crankshaft. This modified drilling to the Crankshaft necessitates a single hole only being drilled on the upper half of the Connecting Rod Bearing. We have arranged to introduce at the same point as the new bearings, namely at the 176th chassis in 'K' Series.
