2nd Expl. L.H. P.II - 25-EX.

We have been out on this car and I have compared its interior with your drawing W.Sch.3070.

I offer the following notes which may interest you.

(1) Bonnet and Radiator.

(a) Appearance. Considerable improvement on the Segrave car.

I have no hesitation in saying that it will be welcomed by R.R.A.I. as a great improvement.

Personally I detect no need for reducing the size of the monogram plate, but this is a matter of taste.

The rise of the side hinges from front to rear appears greater then standard. This is not so actually so it must be due to the belt line treatment referred to below.

(b) Mounting. Rear end of side hinge fouls the corner of dash. This should be cut away.

(2) Coachwork External.

(a) The belt line has been "broken" from the upward to a downward slope rather suddenly on the side of the scuttle. It gives the car an appearance of sagging toward the rear that I am sure our Coachworks would be at some pains to avoid.

(b) I think the undersweep of the rear panel would be objected to by our folks, and they will want to put the rear bottom rail further back as they have already suggested.
