To- Mr. Hives [Struck through] from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}8/AP.21.5.37 N.Sch.4903 - Earth Contact in Front Hubs. The plug fitting into the stub axle and forming part of the above is giving trouble. It has not been designed as first tried by the Experimental Dept. The design type plug is too rigid and it has to fit into a hole with limits + 10 - 10, it is consequently either too loose or too tight. If two saw cuts at Right angles are made in the plug it has enough flexibility to fit any stub axle. Will you please authorise this modification as By/TWD.{T. W. D???Aeith} cannot move unless you do so. For future cars it would seem reasonable to alter the stub axle so that no plug is required. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F.
