To Mr. Hives, from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} x2925 6th August, 1917. BY8/G6917. RE "FALCON" ENGINES - VALVE SPRING WASHERS. I am of the opinion from examination of the drawing, that the present Falcon washer E.14157 will stand up to the increased speed. Would you kindly run these particular washers on a similar test rig to that which you used in testing the Eagle. Of course we shall make the new washers that Mr. Royce has instructed for both Eagles and Falcons, but the point is that a number of Falcon washers will be made to the above number, and we should decide by experiment whether these can or cannot be used. They are certainly proportionally stronger than the Eagle. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
